WORKSHOPS | making things talk
WORKSHOP | brief
Over the past years we have began to use the Internet no longer exclusively from a table with a keyboard and a mouse, but it becomes a constant activity, being used from bed to work, on the subway or in a bar, for professional purposes or leisure. For many of us the Internet is already present in our lives almost constantly, but how?
Although we have managed to have the Internet in our pocket we still use a screen and many times a keyboard like if we had a typewriter in our pocket. If we want to keep living like this, do we really want it this way?
This workshop explores what happens when we explore the possibility of connecting any objects or space to the Internet, what we known as the Internet of Things.
This not only means thinking on objects, spaces and materials but to think the way we interact with them. The workshop will take an experimental approach, learning resources that allow us to quickly prototype our ideas and see how they behave. We will use of rapid prototyping tools that we all have available such as cardboard or our own phone and but also Arduino and Javascript.
